The Historical Railway Archive and the Railway Library are two important reference centers for the research and study of railways. The Historical Railway Archive mainly conserves the documentary funds of the old Spanish private railway companies created throughout the second half of the 19th century, in addition to contemporary funds and private collections. Likewise, an important photo library with more than 400,000 units is integrated into it. For its part, the Railway Library and Newspaper Library gathers a complete bibliographic collection for more than 37,000 titles of monographs and brochures, and for the 3,000 titles of serious publications, of which nearly 200 journal titles are received. In addition to the special cartography collections, brochures, posters, audiovisuals, company reports or ephemeris.
